I have a Savage .17HMR, it’s not the best looking gun but it shoots well. Please don’t kick me out of the forum! Hopefully Blaser makes us one soon.

I have a CZ myself, Blaser does not yet offer a 17HMR. 😥

I have the sako quad wood on order with .22lr and .17hmr barrels – the take down advantages of the Blaser – I just hope it has the same return to 0 capability.
It should be magic for bunny busting ont eh samller properties and for spotlighting

I myself bought a ruger m77 22 magnum with the varmint tapered barrel in the target gray and laminated wood. What’s neat though, is I purchased a custom Lilja SS barrel in 17HMR and this thing will shoot a 10 shot group at 100 yards less than a 1/2″ dia. Two of my buddies have done the same with the exact results. Just goes to show how good Lilja Barrels really are!!!!!

My son shoots a Ruger 77/22 VZB that has a Lija 17Mach2 barrel installed. It also shoots into 2/3moa all day long.

the Sako Quad is an excellent rimfire. I have sold a couple and had the chance to shoot one. Great perfromance.

Due to the fact that Blaser does not make a 17 ya’ll ain’t kicked out…. But you are all on Super Secret Probation. 😀

I bought one of the Sako Quads and thought it was ok to do so since it had interchangeabe barrels 🙂 (interchangebale barrel exception)
Another excuse I will offer the room is that I am going to mount the Burris Quad scope on 4 of my Blaser barrels and see how that works. (R&D scope option exception).
I will also claim the above “Blaser does’t make an equivalent exception”
Finally I will claim the “thinking outside the box and not following the crowd because I am a Blaser person” exception. 😀
Please accept my plea for leaniency in straying outside the “Blasersphere” .

Hey – It is an Everything Else topic area.
I’ve posted more than my share of items about my Krieghoff rifles (German Gun Exemption)!!!
Funny, due to the multi barrel capabilities of my Blaser, Krieghoff Big Five (Double rifle) and Hubertus (single Shot), I’m down to less choices of rifles to shoot, but a much bigger choice of calibers, loads and variety of platforms to shoot them from.
Freedom is a wonderful thing.
If they only made the Sako Quad in a left-handed model. 💡

FYI – Darren Hull at Blaser answered my email – Blaser will be announcing rimfire barrels this year at “IWH” – so we may lose “Blaser does not make and equivalent exception” and have to be thrown off. He could not give details but I suspect it would include .17hmr – If it had been a year earlier i would probably not have ordered the sako quad.
P.s. thanks for the feedback on the Sako the real information on it from users is a little thin over here.
P.p.s how do you find repeatability of 0 when changing/taking off barrels and scopes (if you need to do that for your rigs)

I have found that the R 93 goes back to zero, and I mean the FIRST shot is back on zero, even if you have just put the barrel on the reciever AND the scope back on the barrel.

Never have experienced a change in zero when removing scope in rings and re attaching at range, destination, or for what ever reason I took it off for in the first place.
Like the auto body shop advertises – Back to Exact! 😆

Thanks – But sorry I led you astray and asked the wrong question
Does the Sako Quad return to 0 as well as a Blaser R93 when changing barrels and scopes. I know the latter is a vexed question but I suspect I will need to remove the larger scopes I intend to use to change barrels – hence I am wondering if others have found which non blaser systems actually work for being this 0i.e. Sako optilock quick detach …. and further if any have used the on the Quad
