I own a profesional R8 Blaser and several standard 17mm barrels.
I,ve just bought a new semiweight 19mm contour barrel chambered for a 6,5-284 cartridge.
The issue is that I can fit it on the stock but it is not floated and contact the barrel with the forehend.
Any idea? Is it a problem? Can it make less accurate? Should I buy another stock? Can I use a sandpsper and remove a bit the stock and solve the problem?
Thank you in advance
Yeah that’s a problem. I would not fire it that way as I would worry it would not be properly aligned. The barrel channel can easily be opened up with a dowel rod wrapped in sand paper.
I suposed that. Will do it and hope it works
Eddie’s suggestion is exactly the easiest way to do it. Blaser even offers the same service. Just take your time and you will be fine.
So you dont think a gunsmith must do the work. I can do it on my own
Yes, you should be able to do it. Most gunsmiths charge about $100 for that kind of job.
